Over one hundred million Americans are missing at least one tooth. This can have a detrimental effect on your self-confidence, your personal relationships, and your career. Sadly, people will often hide their smile or choose not to share it due to embarrassment.

If you want to eliminate the gaps in your smile caused by missing teeth, then dental implants in Kerrville may be right for you. Dr. Matthew Huff at Precision Dentistry & Implants offers a variety of options to meet your needs.

What Are Dental Implants?

Natural-looking dental implants are prosthetic teeth that are surgically attached to your jaw, for a firm and comfortable fit. Dr. Huff will always try to save a damaged tooth. But when a patient’s tooth is missing or severely damaged, Dr. Huff will often recommend dental implants.

Dr. Huff uses the latest advancements in implant technology to provide you with the best possible care. That’s why we feature implants from Intra-Lock International® They’re scientifically engineered to encourage faster integration while preserving essential bone and soft tissue.

A dental implant is made up of three parts:

1. Implant fixture

The implant fixture is a titanium structure that anchors the implant in place. The bones in your jaw will develop a secure attachment to the fixture through a process called osseointegration.

2. Abutment

This is the middle section of the implant, connecting the implant fixture to the crown. It’s made of a durable material such as titanium, ceramic, or stainless steel.

3. Crown

The porcelain crown is custom-made to match your smile. Your crown is strong, attractive, and it’s the only part of the implant that your friends will see.

Types of Dental Implants

Here at Precision Dentistry & Implants, we offer dental implant solutions for patients who are looking to restore any number of missing teeth.

Single Tooth Implant

dental implant details

When only one tooth is being replaced, we use a single tooth implant restoration.

The first step of this procedure is surgically connecting the implant fixture to the patient’s jawbone. Once the implant fixture is placed, the patient will have to wait a few months for the bones in their jaw to develop a secure attachment to it.

As soon as you’re ready, you’ll return to our office so Dr. Huff can complete the process by attaching the abutment and crown to the implant fixture.

Dr. Huff will continue to monitor the status of your dental implants in Kerrville and he may ask you to return to our office for a follow-up appointment.

Full-Arch Replacement

All-on-4

Dr. Huff can restore a full arch of missing teeth using just four to six dental implants. In fact, we’ll perform all the necessary surgical procedure in just one day.

That way, we can provide you with an attractive, fully functional temporary prosthetic to wear until you’re ready to receive your final restoration.

Once you’re completely healed from surgery, and the dental implants are fully integrated into your jawbone, you’ll come back to our office so Dr. Huff can complete the process by placing your permanent restoration.

We also feature a type of full-arch restoration called implant-supported dentures. A Full-Arch replacement is a great alternative to traditional dentures because they’re permanent and won’t shift around in your mouth.
